Maria and her two brothers were brought from Baja, Mexico to the United States early in life to correct club feet. Maria had several complications which required her to stay for an extended time in the US.
She was sponsored by a volunteer from Hearts In Motion. Her family was eventually able to move to the United States where they worked as migrant field workers in Oregon. With the assistance of a local church group they were able to obtain steady employment and stay in one place. Maria never forgot her sponsoring family and was able to locate them through the Internet.
She was recently reunited with them and they spent a week getting to know each other again and reliving old memories. Maria has finished high school and is attending college. She is forever thankful for her life and to all those who have helped her |
